An indefinite extension of an arms embargo on Iran has been voted down by the United Nations Security Council, despite efforts by the US. China and Russia backed Iran. Now the US is threatening a snapback—to reimpose all sanctions on Iran, no matter what the other members of the UN Security Council say. It's part of a larger effort by the Trump Administration to put maximum pressure on Iran, including a historic peace deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, the UAE, and the failing of the Iran Nuclear Deal.
